Barras House
is a 18th Century house with attached barn, located up on the moors above Grassington, near Skipton, North Yorkshire.
The House has lain empty for decades and was found in a very poor state.
T
he client with grant aid from the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust is doing substantial repairs to the roof and consolidation to the walls, whilst keeping the intrusion on the building and on its moorland setting to a minimum.
T
he building will then be left in a stable condition, unhabited, but left open for use by the public as a resting shelter. It is close to two major paths crossing these wild and beautiful moors above Grassington.
