MC.FIE'S FOLLY
The folly upper part before repairs

McFie's Folly
is an elliptical semi ruinous water tower built in the C19th Century to feed the adjacent farm in the valley of Mallerstang.

The structure was in a poor state of repair needing metal window repairs and timber door repairs plus pointing and wall top consolidation. The project was funded by the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust.

We have gone about the repairs with minimal intervention and attempted to arrest the decay without destroying the partly ruinous appearance of the water tower.
