Morland Hall is a
Victorian country house built in 1867, just outside the historic village of Morland, approximately 10 miles south of Penrith. Now privately owned, it has been derelict for the last half century. The present owners decided to restore the building to its former glory.
The initial consultation
was for the consolidation & repair, renovation and adaptation of the large and impressively ruinous Victorian house and outbuildings. This included the attached servants quarters that are at present being divided into two cottages; a seperate coachhouse which will be converted into one large house; and the recent designs for bringing the private walled garden back to life with the introducion of a new dwelling/conservatory upon the footprint of the ruined conservatory and boiler rooms.
The clients wanted to consolidate and repair the existing main house, whilst dividing the servants range into two seperate dwellings. The coach house is to be given a change of use to allow for a single dwelling accommodation.
