PRACTICE AIMS
Successful repair & conservation is achieved through minimum intervention, new responding to old with respect, and by planned maintenance.
This is undertaken with an accurate measured survey and inspection, allowing us to gain a full understanding of the structure’s nature.
A true response includes analysis of materials and construction, historical research and archaeological investigation to allow a fuller understanding of a building.
Reasoned and holistic approach to design when involving repair, adaptation or new build will produce results that will satisfy the client, compliment the buildings finished form and fabric, and help to achieve planning / special planning / listed building consent.
To utilize a specialist knowledge of design within the often delicate constraints of existing fabric, to produce a sensitive and balanced approach to repair, adaptation and general architectural projects with a conservation bias plus individual design objects.
